Cache Clearing

1. Google Chrome

Windows & macOS:

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Access Settings:
    • Click on the three dots in the top-right corner.
    • Go to Settings > Privacy and Security.
  3. Clear Browsing Data:
    • Select Clear browsing data.
    • Choose the Time range (Last hour, 24 hours, 7 days, 4 weeks, or All time).
    • Check Cached images and files (you can also select other options if needed).
    • Click on Clear data.

Shortcut Method:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + Delete (macOS).
  • This brings up the Clear browsing data menu instantly.

2. Mozilla Firefox

Windows & macOS:

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Access Settings:
    • Click on the three lines (hamburger menu) in the top-right corner.
    • Go to Settings > Privacy & Security.
  3. Clear Data:
    • Under the Cookies and Site Data section, click on Clear Data.
    • Check Cached Web Content (you can also clear Cookies and Site Data).
    • Click on Clear.

Shortcut Method:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + Delete (macOS).
  • Select Cache and any other desired options.
  • Click OK.

3. Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based)

Windows & macOS:

  1. Open Edge.
  2. Access Settings:
    • Click on the three dots in the top-right corner.
    • Go to Settings > Privacy, Search, and Services.
  3. Clear Browsing Data:
    • Under Clear browsing data, click on Choose what to clear.
    • Select the Time range and check Cached images and files.
    • Click on Clear now.

Shortcut Method:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + Delete (macOS).
  • Select Cache and any other options you wish to clear.
  • Click Clear now.

4. Safari

macOS:

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Clear Cache Through Menu Bar:
    • Go to Safari in the top-left menu and select Preferences.
    • Go to the Advanced tab.
    • Enable Show Develop menu in menu bar.
    • Now, in the menu bar, click Develop and choose Empty Caches.

Shortcut Method:

  • Press Cmd + Option + E to clear cache instantly.

iOS (iPhone/iPad):

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select Safari.
  3. Tap on Clear History and Website Data and confirm.

5. Opera

Windows & macOS:

  1. Open Opera.
  2. Access Settings:
    • Click on the Opera logo in the top-left corner and choose Settings.
    • Go to Privacy & Security.
  3. Clear Browsing Data:
    • Click on Clear browsing data.
    • Select the Time range and check Cached images and files.
    • Click on Clear data.

Shortcut Method:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + Delete (macOS).
  • Choose Cache and other items you want to delete.
  • Click Clear data.

6. Clearing System Cache on Operating Systems

Windows:

  1. Open Run Dialog:
    • Press Windows + R.
  2. Clear Temporary Files:
    • Type %temp% and press Enter.
    • Delete all files in this folder.
  3. Clear Windows Cache:
    • Go to Settings > System > Storage.
    • Select Temporary files and delete the cache.

macOS:

  1. Open Finder.
  2. Clear System Caches:
    • Press Cmd + Shift + G.
    • Type ~/Library/Caches and press Enter.
    • Delete the contents of each folder but do not delete the folders themselves.
  3. Clear User Cache:
    • Repeat the process for /Library/Caches (without the ~).

Linux (Ubuntu):

  1. Clear APT Cache (for updates):
    • Open the Terminal.
    • Run sudo apt-get clean.
  2. Clear Thumbnail Cache:
    • Run rm -rf ~/.cache/thumbnails/*.
